Sacred Movement Ritual

Sacred Movement Ritual  is a spiritual practice composed of 9 meditative movements. The movement lessons provide spiritual insights and opens a door to another Divine Mother. Each movement is an embodied expression of Her spiritual mysteries and lessons.

One movement follows the other, in a fluid Tai Chi style of movement. Prayers accompany each movement to create a rich understanding of the lesson. The sequence is original and unique.
All movements are done in, from and through the heart.

A natural sense of peace and well being develops with daily practice.  We begin to feel connected to the rhythm of our own life and the rhythm of the universe. During the practice one senses beauty, oneness, expansiveness, and a quieting of the mind and body.

It is very natural to follow the practice with a sitting meditation. Sacred Movement Ritual can be done inside or outside in nature. Many parts of the movement relate to nature and as such the nature helps us to receive the teachings more deeply.

Sacred Movement Ritual  uncovers our innermost treasure, the oneness that is inside our hearts, where we are completely free, loved and safe. It is from here that we develop our own true peace and wisdom.

Sacred Yoga and the Divine Mother

Yoga means union with the Divine. Yoga is a sacred practice that speaks to all levels of the human condition. For union to happen with the Divine there are many practices yoga offers; meditation, contemplation, ritual worship, chanting, right living and hatha yoga postures to name a few.

Sacred Movement Ritual is a sacred yoga practice. It includes worship of the Divine Mother.  see Levels
It is a complete spiritual practice thats purpose is to awaken each person to their highest self. It is considered the Tai Chi of Yoga as it uses the pranic flow in the body to balance the doshas, nadis, chakras.

"The highest purpose of Sacred Movement Ritual
is spiritual healing,
to heal the original separation of the spirit from its source".

"The ritual is my way to feel infinite peace and the ultimate freedom it brings.
God is an experience."  Ruth Davis

In 2006 we led a group to Bali for a retreat. One day we visited the High Priest.
He kindly witnessed Sacred Movement Ritual and said, "May I share from my heart ?
This movement includes all of nature, the microcosm and macrocosm."

Ruth Davis, AHE, CHT, CNT

Born in 1952, Ruth Davis is the originator of Sacred Movement Ritual.  As a young girl she realized that she was dancing to God. Her classical training includes 18 years of classical ballet, Russian Folk, African, Modern Dance and Jazz, performance and choreography.

In 1970, she was initiated into Surat Shabd Yoga, an Eastern spiritual practice of meditation and right living. She holds certificates in Ayurvedic Medicine, Theraputic Vizualization and NLP.  She has also studied Sacred Dance, Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi and Chi Gung.

Since 1993 she has been co-leading spiritual retreats with her husband Bruce Davis in America, Europe, Bali Indonesia and India.  In 2000 they founded a The Assisi Peace Center in the heart of Assisi, Italy and restored an old farmhouse in the Umbrian countryside nearby, where she is currently living and working. After years of devotion to the Divine Feminine and application of  Her wisdom in her everyday life, Sacred Movement Ritual
emerged. It is the Divine Feminine embodied and culminates years of devotional dance, meditation practice and spiritual teachings from the East and West.

A vast wisdom opens when we feel the presence of the Divine Feminine in our lives. Her essence leads us to our divine essence, our inner beauty.
